Six unique and luxurious bars of soap, handcrafted by Pelle Dolce Soaps, each beautifully engraved with a landmark or scene from one of the six New England states. The soaps are made with silk, shea butter and goatsmilk and are presented in a loveley gift box.
Soap ingredients goats milk, shea butter, and silk. The bars are etched with the outlines of the New England states. Each has its own distinctive, delicate fragrance. Here are the scents and images of each of the six soaps.
* Connecticut: When a representative of King James II challenged the legitimacy of the Connecticut Charter and demanded its return in 1687, Joseph Wadsworth hid it in what became known as The Charter Oak. Gone since 1856 neither the tree nor the tale is forgotten and The Charter Oak remains today an important memory of the Constitution State and our country. Scent: Lavender Twist
* Massachusetts: The Concord Minuteman statue memorializes the group of common men who, when called, assembled ready to fight during the Revolutionary War. Now a symbol of the American sprit the Minuteman is humanized by the men and women who today serve at home and abroad. Scent: Juniper Breeze
* Maine: The Pemaquid Light has been a part of Maine's coastal commerce heritage providing a beacon of safety for navigators soon after our 23rd state joined the Union. This scene depicting a schooner, the light and Maine's rugged coast reminds one of what some downeasters like to say about their state: Maine, where life is as it ought to be. Scent: Sea Mist
* Rhode Island: The Pell Bridge serves as the backdrop to this Ocean state scene depicting a sail boat in the Narragansett Bay serving as a reminder that Rhode Island with its 400 miles of coastline is the sailing capital of New England and the world. Scent: Citrus Breeze
* Vermont: Our young country depended upon maple syrup and sugar produced by Vermonters until the cane sugar sweetener became widely available. People throughout New England still enjoy real maple products. The Green Mountain state's famous northern attraction the double humps of Camel's Hump mountain form the background for this scene. Scent: Mountain Meadow
* New Hampshire: The Old Man of the Mountain was once a 40 foot high, 25 foot wide granite rock formation looking strikingly like the profile of an older man. The formation fell from its perch on Cannon Mountain in 2003 after having stood guard in the Franconia Mountains facing east since the glacial period. Scent: Appleberry
